Referred to as “The Blood”, this ring latches onto and creature living, or undead, and aggressively mutates them into something profane.

The rhyme of reason for the mutations are currently unknown, but they are drastic, and more monstrous the longer the ring has to twist the victim.

There's little info on how Helushka round the ring. All they remember is waking up in a puddle of blood, and their previous travelling companions finding them.

While Frankie Hale was initially sympathetic, wondering if the manatou had temporarily gained a level of dominance, Carter Slade immediately wanted to put an end to Helushka to prevent him from becoming a monster.

The disagreement in how this should be handled led to the eventual dissolution of The Deadlanders. Each going off in their own direction.

Frankie managed to sneak Helushka away, and setup the wards and barriers atop Gravedust, hoping to contain and eventually cure Helushkas transformations, but eventually has to leave to find help.

Carter vowed to find and end his friends suffering, the only way he knew would get the job done, with a bullet to the head, or by burning his body.

William Reeve and Rick Valance both decided to setup a mobile trading post, taking their steam powered transport called “The Paddy Wagon” to sell wares, and hopefully help, or con, other potential Deadlanders.

The Blue Ring was eventually recovered by Alphonse, and used in the summoning ritual, but was lost when it was interrupted and it now lost in the Gloomstone Wastes.
